Split pea soup

Split pea soup recipe:
1 16 oz bag split peas

6 cups of water (you can add more or less depending on how thick you want.

4 carrots chopped

1 medium onion chopped

2 bay leafs

2 garlic cloves minced

1 1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp pepper

Add water to pot. Add all ingredients and bring to a boil then reduce to a simmer for an hour or until the split peas fall apart. You can leave it thick or you can purée it or use an immersion blender for a thinner consistency.
